series, it's great to finally see them playable at last. After getting their heads stomped on throughout the late 80s and 90s, dropping off the face of the earth for nearly a decade, and returning just to get their heads stomped on some more in the New Super Mario Bros. However, in the end, she's still basically a reskin of another character, and they could've made far more interesting choices. I like the fact that we've got another female in the heavy class, and I like the choice of pink gold - it looks great. My feelings on Pink Gold Peach are rather mixed. I guess the upside is being able to choose your favourite baby without having to worry about which one has the best stats for your driving style, but still. Especially since it means one-sixth of the roster is babies with identical stats. I'm not saying I don't like these characters, I just think they weren't worth giving more memorable characters (such as Diddy Kong, King Boo, Bowser Jr. Baby Daisy and Baby Rosalina, however, didn't. I don't mind Baby Mario, Baby Luigi and Baby Peach, since those three actually appeared in canon games (Yoshi's Island series and Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time). I definitely agree with the remark on the character selection. There's actually been a bit of nerfing in MK8: Daisy/Baby Daisy doesn't have the speed stat of a Bullet Bill anymore the red turtle shell is not a very effective heat-seeking missile. The only problem is that that actually kind of nerfed the bikes, so you can't really get a huge lead on the CPUs like in Mario Kart Wii where you could finish a whole five minutes ahead of them. I also like that bikes can drift into the Red Boost now, and that you don't throw out your arm trying to get them to do wheelies. I still like them, though: they have a lot of personality, especially Roy! They left out a lot of great characters from last time like Funky Kong, Diddy Kong, Dry Bones, and King Boo, and if they were going to have limited slots, I'd have preferred Diddy Kong to Ludwig or Wendy, a Koopa Kid whose name I'm surely going to forget before I play a Mario game next. I appreciate that they decided to go out of the box and added the Koopa Kids to the roster, but the fact that there are less playable characters than last time (maybe because of Kart customisation) kind of feels like a downgrade. The most disappointing thing about the game is probably the character selection. Plus, there's that confusing turn where you can't see where you should be going, so that's not my fave Wario Stadium, only because the last Mario Kart installment had Waluigi Stadium and they're basically the exact same track. The track I thought got the best revamp was probably N64 Rainbow Road, which I wasn't really a fan of as a kid because it was sooooo long but got a much needed segmentation and a lot of fun upgrades as well as holding very true to the original track. My favourite out of them all is probably. It's a really fast, flashy, big bass track. My favourite new track is probably the Electrodome. They also remade a lot of N64 tracks, which I loved! The tracks are very flashy and like roller-coasters rather than linear obstacle courses, which was an interesting development. I bought it the day it was available, and I really like it.
